   NEW Battlefield 2 patch coming

Battlefield 2

In an exclusive world first soaring interview, it was confirmed that on Monday, the 23rd of June, to coincide with Battlefield 2's third birthday, gamers will see a new patch coupled with exciting original maps.

The interview was directly with John Hargelid, a Live Producer from DICE, Sweden, who confirmed that support for Battlefield 2 is not over, and that an announcement regarding a possible new patch and maps will be announced on Monday.

The question that was directly answered included references to a patch, maps, and gaming modes.

Variety Map Pack sponsored by NVIDIA hits PC June 5th

Call of Duty 4

Great news! Heads up that the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Variety Map Pack sponsored by NVIDIA will be available worldwide for our PC players next week on June 5th!

NVIDIA is making it possible for PC players to download the map pack for Free on the PC thanks to their sponsorship. In addition, expect to see quite a few promotions popping up leading up to the launch of the map packs on the 5th and beyond. I know NVIDIA has a lot of great things planned for PC users in addition to maps becoming available.

There’s going to be some PC specific previews going up online this weekend I believe that will cover how well the maps play on the PC version as well as some contests and promotions happening all next week. I’ll be posting up details on them as they get started all this week!

The Variety Map Pack includes four new maps for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare multiplayer including Broadcast, Chinatown, Killhouse, and Creek.

In addition to the map pack hitting, PC Players will be receiving the 1.6 Patch for the PC version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare that will add support for the new maps, fix a server crash exploit recently reported by the community, and a few additional features / bug fixes. I will post a full patch notes list next week.

   Logitech ClearChat PC Wireless

Devils News

Logitech showed off a new wireless headset at CeBIT, the Logitech ClearChat PC Wireless.

“More and more people are making voice calls over the Internet, but until now, they have had to choose between wired headsets that keep them tethered to their PCs or wireless headsets that offer poor audio and voice quality,” said Gina Clark, general manager and vice president of Logitech’s Internet Communications business unit. “With the Logitech ClearChat PC Wireless headset, people can make a PC call while grabbing a snack, sitting on the couch or leaning back in their chair – PC calling has never been so convenient and never sounded so good.”

The Logitech ClearChat PC Wireless enables people to move freely up to 33 feet (10 meters) from their computer. With the included USB transmitter, the headset effortlessly connects to a PC or Mac computer right out of the box – no software or pairing required. And to help ensure no call gets interrupted, the ClearChat PC Wireless headset’s 2.4 GHz wireless technology features both crisp, uncompressed stereo audio and an advanced algorithm that minimizes interference –even in the busiest wireless environments, such as an airport, office or hotel.

The ClearChat PC Wireless delivers rich, high-quality stereo audio through proprietary laser-tuned audio drivers. For optimal voice clarity, the headset features a noise-canceling microphone on a flexible boom that adjusts to the desired distance from the mouth. Additionally, volume and microphone mute controls are located on the right earpiece and the microphone automatically mutes when rotated to an upright position. As an added convenience, the microphone emits a soft, red glow when muted.

Designed with comfort in mind, the ClearChat PC Wireless headset features a padded headband and plush ear pads. The Logitech ClearChat PC Wireless headset is expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe in May for a suggested retail price of $99.99.

Frontlines: Fuel Of War - Special Edition (Exclusive to Play.com)

  • Frontlines: Fuel of War - Special Edition contents:
  • Exclusive Art Book
  • Limited Edition T-Shirt
  • Official Soundtrack
  • Poster
  • Game features:
  • Tomorrow's Weapons, Today - As depicted in F.O.W., the U.S./E.U. and Russia/China have combined their military research and budgets, and the result is over 60 next-gen vehicles and weapons inspired by military designs for the near future. This includes remote controlled drones, gun cams, and next-generation counter-measures systems, all of which are player-controllable.
  • Customisation - The customisation system allows players to grow their soldier to fit their play style by choosing a weapons loadout, as well as a technical specialisation (role). As the game progresses each role will upgrade, providing advanced equipment and abilities. The system is a mix of RPG-like depth but with the accessibility of a fast-paced FPS.
  • Frontline Combat System - The main game mechanic featured in F.O.W. in both single player and multiplayer is the ability to join the forces on the frontline. This front expands across large portions of a mission and will require a strategy to achieve the contextual objectives in order to move this front forward. Not only does this system keep the battle centric and players in the midst of the action, it gives a unique sense of advancement as your Division is rewarded with territory for their victories.
  • Choose Your Path to Victory - Within the front, players can take advantage of a sandbox of destructible elements and various weapons of war to create their own unique paths and strategies. Instead of failing and re-playing the same sequence of events, players can 'chip-away' with varied approaches, allowing diverse missions with high replay value.
  • Huge Multiplayer Online Battles - Challenge up to 64 players online at any one time. Use high-tech combat systems to collect and relay recon, targeting, and threat information then share this between team mates using squad specific chat.
